197. Goose Fat
There aren’t really many meals better than a homecooked roast dinner. For some insane reason, roast potatoes aren’t on the list, but these ones were cooked in goose fat so I can still count them in a way. Roast potatoes are one of my favourite foods in the whole world, and when they’re cooked in goose fat they’re just made even better as they get extra flavour and always go lovely and crispy.
I never ate roast beef until recently (I didn’t really used to like beef at all), so I never really ate horseradish either. It’s one of those things where I was never quite sure if I liked it or not. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s very good in very small doses (the same way I feel about wasabi). The spicy flavour definitely adds a huge amount to the meal, but I just have to avoid having too much and getting that tingly nose feeling.
