768. Sorrel and 769. Carnaroli Rice
Leaves have been some of the foods that have surprised me most while doing this list. You tend to assume that most leaves will taste the same - just fresh and bland, like baby spinach. But several of them have had really delicious individual flavours. Sorrel tastes very lemony, which I loved because lemon is amazing. It was lovely by itself and would work fantastically in a salad, and I used it here in a risotto where it added a nice little zing. I made the risotto with traditional carnaroli rice.
